Dear Elected Officials and Candidates:
On behalf of communities throughout the Foothills area of the northeast San Fernando Valley, it’s a pleasure to invite you to attend a “Candidate Meeting/Forum” for the 39th Assembly District on Friday, April 8, 2016, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Tierra del Sol (9919 Sunland Blvd.). Since we’ve either spoken to or left messages for each of you, the purpose of this note is to formalize the date/time/location and provide an overview of the meeting. Details related to the format will be sent to you shortly, as well.
This election information program is an activity we routinely host here in the Foothills communities. Organizations helping to organize the meeting include the Shadow Hills Property Owners Assn., Foothill Trails District Neighborhood Council, Kagel Canyon Civic Assn., North Valley Reporter and the S.A.F.E. Coalition. Our intent is to invite the general public to attend, but to also focus on “leaders/board members” of the more active civic, business and community groups in the area. Please feel free to suggest any groups to ensure we’ve not left anyone out!
We look forward to discussing relevant topics on these issues, and will provide you with questions in the near future. We will have a panel of community leaders present the questions at the meeting, and we will open the floor to questions from attendees following the pre-planned questions:
- High Speed Train project
- National Monument, Angeles National Forest, Rim of the Valley
- Public safety/Law enforcement
- Water Supply/Conservation
- Minimum wage/Economy
We will furnish you with a list of questions in the near future. Thanks in advance for your commitment to our communities and to talking with our residents and businesses.
